Dennis Kucinich - First Impressions
By Bill | August 4, 2007 | Email This Post
Dennis Kucinich
Current Job: Representative from Ohio
Former Job: Mayor of Cleveland
Presidential history: Ran in 2004.
Book (if you’re running for President, they make you write a book): The Courage to Believe (okay, I had to look this one up…)
Issues I think Dennis Kucinich cares about:
- Getting the US out of Iraq
- Repealing the Patriot act
- Establishing a Department of Peace
Interesting facts I remember:
- He was once the target of a mob hit.
- When I went looking for Dennis (July 2007) his web site actually had a “New Website Coming Soon!” disclaimer on it, in the middle of an active campaign. Big points off for being sloppy on this one, Dennis. C’mon. Try.
Things I like about Dennis Kucinich:
- Dennis is largely perceived as being as far left as a mainstream candidate can be; to his credit, he seems to embrace the role. Agree or disagree, at least he stands up for what he believes.
Things I don’t like about Dennis Kucinich:
See the last section; I’m pretty liberal on certain issues, but I do have my limits. It will be interesting to see whether or not Dennis exceeds those limits (or not.)
(The First Impressions post for each candidate is where they’re starting out with me. What I know, or at least think I know about them, basically any starting impressions I’ve formed that they have to live up to or overcome. Sometimes it’s pretty sparse. Sometimes it may be outright incorrect. No fact checking has taken place on First Impressions posts.)
